Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly departed Saudi Arabia overnight amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to the Daily Mail, the 41-year-old departed the country aboard his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet.
Riyadh, where the 41-year-old lives with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and his five children, has been named among cities targeted in retaliatory strikes by Iran following recent attacks by the United States and Israel.
Reports indicate that two drones struck the U.S. embassy in the Saudi capital overnight, while Iranian state media also claimed that a command and staff building in Bahrain had been destroyed.
Amid growing security concerns, foreign nationals have begun leaving parts of the region. Flight tracking data circulating online showed a Bombardier Global Express 6500 jet, linked to Ronaldo, making a near seven-hour journey from Saudi Arabia to Madrid.
According to available tracking information, the aircraft departed Riyadh at about 8 p.m. local time and landed in the Spanish capital shortly before 1 a.m., flying over Egypt and the Mediterranean en route.
The U.S. State Department has urged Americans to leave more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries due to heightened safety risks. Several flights bound for Riyadh were reportedly diverted overnight as tensions intensified.
Ronaldo acquired the luxury Bombardier Global Express 6500 in 2024 after selling his Gulfstream G200, which he had owned since 2015. The all-black jet, valued at £61 million, can carry up to 15 passengers and features multiple living areas, including a lounge space, a bedroom suite and a private shower. The aircraft is customised with Ronaldo’s CR7 branding and goal-celebration silhouette.
The Portuguese forward, who plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and reportedly earns £488,000 per day, is currently sidelined with injury.
There has been no official confirmation from Ronaldo or his representatives regarding the purpose of the flight.
