Mimiko Urges FG To Decentralise Security Architecture

Former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, has called for the decentralisation of the country’s security architecture, saying effective security begins at the local community level.

According to a statement shared with Sunday PUNCH, Mimiko made the remarks at the grand finale of the 13th anniversary celebration of Gallery Security Services Limited, founded by Bibopere Ajube, at Agadagba-Obon, Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state.

Mimiko, who chaired the event, spoke as the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Ndutimi Alaibe, and a former presidential aide/chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Kingsley Kuku, all lauded Ajube’s patriotic role in sustaining peace in the Niger Delta region.

He stated that Gallery Security had demonstrated that if the country was serious about tackling insecurity and achieving tangible results, it must decentralise its security architecture.
