“Stay Globally Competitive, Keep Learning, Create Value” — Uche Ogah Charges Clifford University Students

Clifford University, Owerrinta (Ihie Campus), Abia State, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, hosted a memorable edition of its Eminent Personality Lecture Series where renowned industrialist and President of Masters Energy Group, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, delivered a powerful and inspiring keynote address.

With the auditorium filled to capacity, students, management, faculty members, and invited guests listened attentively as Dr. Ogah shared deep insights on education, personal development, and the future of work.

His keynote message, summarized in the compelling line: “Stay globally competitive. Keep learning. Create value,” became the defining theme of the day, drawing applause from the enthusiastic audience.

Delivering his lecture titled: “Holistic Education and Global Competitiveness: Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry,” Dr. Ogah emphasized that academic degrees alone are no longer enough in a world driven by innovation, digital transformation, and global competition.

“The world has changed. Today’s economy rewards competence, creativity, value, and relevance, not just certificates,” he said.

He stressed the importance of holistic education, describing it as a blend of academic knowledge, skill acquisition, emotional intelligence, character formation, and digital skills.

Using real workplace scenarios, the business leader explained how many graduates struggle to secure opportunities due to poor communication skills, lack of practical knowledge, and limited exposure to real-world problem-solving.

“Your degree gets you noticed, but your competence keeps you employed,” he added.

The keynote speaker also encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, noting that even with his achievements and national honours, he remains committed to studying and improving.

The event featured a riveting citation of the speaker presented by the University Librarian, Dr. Evans C. Otuza, who highlighted Dr. Ogah’s business journey, philanthropic legacy, and national contributions. The audience responded with repeated applause.

Speaking after the lecture, the Vice Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Chimezie A. Omeonu, thanked Dr. Ogah for what he described as a transformational and future-focused message that aligns with the institution’s mission to produce morally sound, globally competitive graduates.

In a remarkable gesture that electrified the hall, Dr. Ogah announced a financial donation to support Clifford University’s ongoing development efforts and promised automatic employment for the best graduating Accounting student after NYSC.
