Ex-Minister Uche Ogah Donates ₦10M To Clifford University, Announces Automatic Employment For Accounting Graduates

Clifford University, Ihie, Abia State, witnessed a historic moment on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, as former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Samson Ogah (Ph.D., FCA, CON, OON), announced a ₦10 million donation to the institution during the Eminent Personality Lecture Series, where he served as keynote speaker.

Speaking before a packed audience of students, faculty members, university leadership and invited dignitaries, Dr. Ogah said the donation was part of his continued commitment to supporting education, youth development, and capacity building in Nigeria.

In a gesture that drew thunderous applause and standing ovations across the auditorium, Dr. Ogah further declared that every accounting graduate of Clifford University will receive automatic employment in his business institutions upon completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to him, the initiative is aimed at reducing unemployment among graduates, encouraging academic excellence, and promoting skill development in critical professional areas.

“Education remains the strongest foundation for development, empowerment, and a better future. I want to see Clifford University produce graduates who are not only academically excellent but equipped with real-world opportunities,” he said.

Dr. Ogah emphasized that the private sector must play a significant role in supporting educational institutions, not only through funding but by creating pathways for students to transition into the workforce.
