The Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle to pick 31 year old Paul Onuachu in his provisional list of players for the upcoming world cup qualifiers playoff.
Onuachu last played for the Super Eagles in June 2024 during the tenure of Finidi George playing in the 1-1 draw against South Africa and the 1-2 loss to Benin Republic in the world cup qualifiers.
He is however set for a return to the team for the world cup qualifiers playoff against Gabon in Morocco in November, as a reward for his fine form for Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Onuachu is the current top scorer in the league with seven goals in ten games, a form that made his provisional invitation a no brainer for Chelle, who is big on rewarding players for their performance at their club.
A decision on his inclusion in the final list of players is however not known as at the time of this report.
