Kogi Lady Faces Legal Threat For Secretly Recording Married Man in Hotel, Sending Video To His Wife

A Lokoja-based woman identified as Aishat Isah, popularly known as Princess Omanibe on Facebook, is facing possible legal action after she was accused of secretly recording a married man in a hotel and forwarding the video to his wife.

According to reports, the incident occurred during a birthday party in Lokoja, Kogi State. The married man, who attended the party, reportedly met a lady who was a mutual friend of the celebrant. While they were exchanging pleasantries and discussing a change of venue, hotel staff noticed Aishat discreetly recording them.

Sources said the hotel management immediately called her attention and instructed her to delete the footage. However, she allegedly sent the video to the man’s wife before complying, a move believed to have sparked tension within the family.

Investigations further revealed that the hotel management and parties involved have issued Aishat a warning letter, giving her a specific timeframe to tender a public apology to the family or face legal action for privacy invasion and defamation.

The incident has stirred public outrage, with many condemning the act as unethical and a violation of personal privacy. Legal practitioners have also warned that such actions could attract serious legal consequences under Nigeria’s Cybercrime and Privacy Protection laws.
