Former Chief of Staff to the Abia State Governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has made a passionate call for unity, peace, and collective focus within the party in Abia State as it prepares for future political contests.

Chief Kalu made this known during his visit to the APC State Secretariat in Umuahia, where he met with party leaders and supporters. He emphasized the importance of internal harmony, noting that the road ahead requires a united front.
“We cannot succeed in any political battle unless we are together,” Chief Mascot said. “My mission here today is to preach unity and peace. No party can rival the APC in Abia if we stand as one.”
The former Chief of Staff stressed that aligning with the party at the centre would bring immense benefits to the state and reiterated his personal commitment to work for the progress and growth of APC in Abia.
Receiving Chief Mascot and his entourage, the Abia State Chairman of APC, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, welcomed the visit as a positive signal for renewed party cohesion. He maintained that the APC has the capacity to perform better in the state and urged members to be deliberate in their commitment.

“We thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, which has enabled state governors to meet their obligations without borrowing,” Dr. Ononogbu noted. “Abia State should be judged by what it does with the revenue it now receives.”
He was joined by the APC State Secretary, Chief Chidi Avuaja, in encouraging party members to engage more deeply with the grassroots and promote the achievements of the APC-led federal government to strengthen its base in the state.
Also speaking, the acting State Publicity Secretary, Barr. Ifeanyi Igwe, described Mascot Uzor Kalu’s visit as the “realignment of a titan” and an important step in the party’s mission to reclaim power in Abia by 2027.
“This is the return of a bulldozer, a pillar of our party,” Barr. Igwe stated. “Between now and the end of this year, we’ll witness more realignments. APC is becoming the party to beat in Abia.”
He called on former members to return and invited new entrants to join what he described as “a moving train,” assuring that the mistakes of the past elections will not be repeated.
“We are now more united, more intentional, and more determined to take over the reins of governance in Abia come 2027,” he affirmed.
The event signaled a renewed momentum within Abia APC, with party leaders expressing optimism about a stronger, more cohesive political structure as they gear up for the next electoral cycle.
