Renowned industrialist and philanthropist, Chief Kelvin Jombo Onumah, has joined millions of Nigerians and global believers in mourning the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, describing him as a true general of the Gospel whose life embodied faith, courage, and service to God’s Kingdom.

In an emotional tribute released by the Managing Director and CEO of Sublime Industries Ltd, Chief Jombo said words could hardly capture the depth of the loss felt by many at the passing of the revered cleric.

“Words have failed me to fully capture the immense loss we feel with the passing of Rev. Uma Ukpai. He was not just a man of God, but a true Gospel general whose life was a testament to unwavering faith, bold proclamation, and relentless service to the Kingdom,” he wrote.

The business mogul, who hails from  Abiriba in Ohafia LGA of Abia State, noted that the late evangelist’s impact went far beyond the borders of Nigeria, influencing lives across continents.

“Ohafia, Abia, Nigeria, and indeed the entire world have lost a spiritual giant whose impact transcended borders and touched countless lives,” he said.

Chief Jombo hailed Rev. Uma Ukpai as a father, a champion of the Gospel, and a source of spiritual empowerment to many, adding that his legacy would continue to inspire generations to come.

“Though his physical presence has departed, his spiritual influence remains forever alive in our hearts,” he added.

He also prayed for divine strength and consolation for the Ukpai family and members of the ministry during this period of mourning.

“We pray fervently that God will console his beloved family and the church he so diligently shepherded. May the Lord’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, cover them and bring comfort in this time of grief,” he stated.

Chief Kelvin Jombo concluded his tribute with a heartfelt farewell to the late evangelist, saying:

“Go well, Evangelist Uma Ukpai. Go well, God’s general. May the Almighty grant your soul eternal peace and a glorious repose in His heavenly kingdom.”

Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80, was one of Africa’s most respected evangelists, celebrated for his six-decade-long ministry marked by healing crusades, teaching, and humanitarian service that transformed millions of lives around the world.
