Katsina Govt Congratulates Amupitan On Appointment As INEC Chair

The Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, has on Thursday congratulated Professor Joash Amupitan on his confirmation by the National Council of State as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Radda’s message was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, made available to newsmen on Thursday in Katsina.

The statement noted that Governor Radda described Professor Amupitan’s appointment, following the recommendation of President Bola Tinubu, as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, professional integrity, and decades-long commitment to the rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.

“Governor Radda noted that Professor Amupitan’s elevation as INEC Chairman marks a historic milestone, being the first person from Kogi State in the North Central region to occupy the position.
