Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has officially disengaged members of his cabinet, expressing gratitude for their service and contributions to the state’s development over the past two years.
The disengagement affects Commissioners and other public officers whose appointments were recently nullified by the Supreme Court, bringing their tenure to an end.
Speaking during a valedictory session held on Wednesday at the Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Governor Fubara commended the dedication of his outgoing cabinet members and appreciated their role in advancing his administration’s agenda.

Fubara, who was earlier suspended during the State of Emergency declared in Rivers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to governance with “renewed vigor and focus.”
The Governor emphasized the need for national unity, urging Nigerians to rally behind President Tinubu in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country.
While thanking Rivers people for their steadfast support, Fubara extended warm wishes to Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, promising continued dedication to the service of the state.
