Nigeria @ 65: ‘This Is A Time For Reflection, Not Celebration’ — Sir Udensi (VIDEO)

Renowned security expert and Interpol Systems Consultant, Sir Chikwe Udensi, has said that Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary should be marked as a moment of solemn reflection rather than celebration.

He made this remark during an exclusive interview with ABN TV, as the nation commemorated its six-and-a-half decades of self-rule.

“We’re not celebrating. We are simply remembering that we are 65. There is no cause to celebrate when we compare our national progress with where others who gained independence around the same time are today,” he stated.

Udensi criticized the celebratory tone of President Bola Tinubu’s Independence Day speech, noting that the claim of victory over Boko Haram was misleading.

“There’s been some progress, but the data on the crime desk does not support the claim that Boko Haram has been defeated. The government may have classified intelligence, but the evidence available to us in security consultancy says otherwise,” he stressed.

The Interpol vice president also emphasized the need for leadership rooted in sincerity, transparency, and accountability, warning that propaganda and political optics cannot replace actual development and national security.
