The Abia State Government has been thrown into mourning following the death of Mrs. Chidinma Nwaka Inem, wife of Chief Nwaka O. Inem, Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Trade, Commerce and Industry.

Mrs. Inem, aged 52, was until her demise a respected Manager with Zenith Bank in Lagos State. She reportedly passed away on Thursday night, September 11, 2025, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) after a brief illness.

In an emotional announcement, Chief Inem described his late wife as a pillar of strength and a devoted mother to their four children.

With gratitude to God Almighty who knows everything and total submission to His will, I announce the passage of my wife and mother of our four lovely children. May our Lord accept her soul for a peaceful rest in His bosom. Please remember us in your prayers,” he stated.

The late Mrs. Inem was widely admired for her professionalism, kindness, and generosity, qualities that endeared her to colleagues, friends, and associates. Her passing has been described as a huge loss to the Abia State Government, the business community, and everyone whose lives she touched.

Sympathizers have continued to visit the Inem family home to commiserate with Chief Inem, fondly known as Enyi-Oha. Tributes have also poured in from across the country.

The family announced that details of her funeral arrangements will be made public in due course.
