What began as a normal day turned into an unspeakable tragedy for the Uchenwoke family of Enugwu Village, Nanka, Orumba North LGA, Anambra State.

Lilian Nzubechukwu Uchenwoke, a 32-year-old vibrant and hardworking young woman, was brutally k!lled on June 13, 2025, by her mentally unstable cousin. She had gone out to graze her father’s sheep when her cousin, in an unprovoked attack, struck her on the head with a mortar, ending her life instantly.

The incident left the entire community in shock and mourning. Lilian, fondly known as “Social Lady”, was loved for her cheerful spirit, humility, and dedication to family and community.

Amid tears and sorrow, she was laid to rest yesterday, Saturday, 30th August 2025, after a funeral Mass at her father’s compound in Enugwu Village. Family, friends, and sympathizers gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects. Today, Sunday, 31st August, a thanksgiving Mass was held in her honor at St. Gregory De Great Catholic Church, Enugwu Nanka.

Her tragic passing has reignited calls for greater mental health awareness and urgent intervention systems in local communities.
