The Abia State Government has signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vega Growing Global Enterprises as part of preparations for the Turkey Abia Investment Summit and Product Exhibition (TURAB 2025), aimed at boosting investment, trade, and economic development in the state.
The summit, billed for November 25 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, is expected to attract both local and international investors while positioning Abia as a leading hub for commerce and enterprise.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, Managing Director of Vega, described the MoU as a milestone for Abia’s economic transformation.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Abia State Government to drive economic growth and development in the state. This MoU marks a significant milestone in our efforts to promote investment and entrepreneurship, and we look forward to working closely with the government to achieve our shared goals,” he said.
The Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha, stressed the importance of synergy in delivering a successful summit.
“Consultants must ensure proper communication with the Ministry and avoid taking unilateral decisions. The success of the summit depends on teamwork, and the Ministry assures its full support,” Nwokocha said.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public Partnership, High Chief J. N. Green-Amakwe, who also serves as Chairman of the TURAB Steering Committee, recalled that the state government had earlier inaugurated an 11-member committee on June 4, 2025 to collaborate with Vega on preparations.
“The MoU serves as a roadmap for cooperation, outlining the roles and responsibilities of both parties. We expect committee members to actively contribute strategies and ideas to ensure the success of this world-class summit,” he stated.
The MoU was supervised by legal representatives, with officials from both the Abia State Government and Vega signing on behalf of their parties.
In his vote of thanks, Prince Ojajuni reaffirmed Vega’s readiness to support the government’s vision, adding that the summit is a strategic step toward opening new frontiers of economic growth and sustainable development in Abia State.
With TURAB 2025 on the horizon, the partnership is widely seen as a turning point in Abia’s drive to attract global investments, create jobs, and transform its economy for the benefit of citizens.
