The Okwun Ojah Family Foundation has announced the inauguration of its ₦6 million education scholarship award for law students of Ohafia extraction, aimed at supporting young scholars in Nigerian universities.
The event, scheduled to hold on Friday, 29th August 2025, at the SKOG Event Centre, Amaekpu Ohafia, will commence at 12:30 pm.
The scholarship initiative, founded by Chief Dr. Okwun Ojah (Onwa Ohafia and Ogbankpu Ohafia), underscores his commitment to education, youth empowerment, and community development in Ohafia and beyond. According to the Foundation, the beneficiaries are selected law students across accredited Nigerian universities who have shown academic promise and dedication.
The inauguration ceremony will be chaired by Chief Dr. Joseph Eke Kalu, CEO of Blue Spring Luxury Hotel, Ebem Ohafia, while the Deputy Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
Traditional institutions will also be well represented with the presence of His Royal Paramountcy, Eld. Engr. Awa Orji Udonsi (Udumeze Ohafia) and His Royal Highness, Eze Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, Chairman, Ohafia Council of Traditional Rulers.

- Barr. Kalu Ojike, Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (Ohafia Branch)

The event will be hosted by His Majesty Ezeogo Awa Nwankwo Mba, Regent of Amaekpu Ohafia, with Chief Dr. Okwun Ojah as the Chief Host.
In a statement signed by Mazi Jonah Okoro (Eziokwu bu ndu), the Foundation extended an open invitation to the public, stressing that the ceremony is not just about scholarship awards but also a celebration of Ohafia’s enduring tradition of investing in its youth and future leaders.
