Abia North: Orji Kalu Has Outperformed His Predecessors – APC Chieftain, Nwosu (VIDEO)

As political debates continue to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia North have risen in defense of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, describing his performance in the Senate as unmatched in the history of the zone.

Speaking on ABN TV’s Political Perspective, Prince Emma Nwosu, an APC chieftain from Ohafia Local Government Area and convener of the Tripartite Team, said Kalu’s record of achievements places him above all those who previously represented Abia North at the Red Chamber.

Tracing the history of the zone since 1999, Nwosu argued that Kalu has surpassed the developmental footprints of past senators, including Ike Nwachukwu, Uche Chukwumerije, and Mao Ohuabunwa.

“When you look at the impact Senator Kalu has made in just six years, you will realize that none of his predecessors matched his level of service delivery. He has outperformed them in all ramifications,” Nwosu declared.

He listed road projects, school renovations, scholarships, empowerment initiatives, and solar-powered streetlights as tangible evidence of Kalu’s effective representation across the five local government areas of Abia North.

According to Nwosu, while the constitutional duty of a senator is primarily lawmaking, Kalu has leveraged his ranking position and strong relationship with the federal government to attract development to his constituency.

“He is sensitive to the cries of the people and has used his influence in the Red Chamber to bring projects home. That is why the grassroots are solidly behind him,” he added.

Nwosu further noted that, beyond infrastructure, Kalu has been instrumental in uniting and stabilizing the APC in Abia North, particularly in Ohafia, which had previously been plagued by internal disputes.

He insisted that with the senator’s performance and growing political influence, calls for zoning the Abia North Senate seat to Ohafia are misplaced.

“Leadership is not about sentiment. It is about competence, results, and the ability to deliver. Senator Kalu has done that, and that is why he remains the best option for 2027,” Nwosu said.

With the APC projecting unity and banking on Kalu’s achievements, party leaders expressed confidence that the senator’s re-election bid will further consolidate the party’s dominance in the zone as the 2027 elections draw closer.
