MD Nwakanma Set To Establish Solar Energy Factory In Abia, Targets 2,000 Jobs

A new wave of industrialization and job creation is set to hit Abia State, as Mr. Madu Dennis Nwakanma, Chief Executive Officer of MD Nwakanma Nigeria Limited, has announced plans to establish a large-scale solar energy battery factory in the state.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with ABN TV, Mr. Nwakanma revealed that the groundbreaking project will be sited in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area and aims to create over 2,000 direct jobs for both indigenes and non-indigenes.

According to him, investors associated with his company will be arriving in Nigeria soon to begin the installation of the solar battery production lines. However, he emphasized that the project would not proceed without the approval and full consent of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

“We believe in due process and collaboration with government authorities. That’s why we’re counting on the support of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, before full commencement of installation work,” Mr. Nwakanma stated.

Mr. Nwakanma explained that the central goal of the solar factory is to reduce unemployment and empower the youth of Abia State. With an estimated 2,000 workforce required across multiple departments of the factory, he believes the project will significantly absorb job seekers and idle hands.

“We are not just providing clean energy solutions, but actively solving social challenges such as joblessness, which contributes to crimes like theft and kidnapping,” he said.

He added that by reducing idleness among youths through gainful employment, the initiative will positively impact the security landscape of the state.

Mr. Nwakanma also called on media professionals in Abia to lend their support by helping amplify the significance of the new development. He pledged to work closely with media stakeholders to keep the public informed and involved throughout the process.

“We want the media to be part of this journey because this is a new dawn for Abia,” he said.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Nwakanma noted that the dream to make Abia State a hub for clean energy and employment would be made possible through the backing of Governor Alex Otti, the LGA Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South, Hon. Nnadozie Nwaogugu, and the member representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency, Hon. Roland Dennis Caesar.

“Together, with these visionary leaders, we want to make Abia State proud,” Mr. Nwakanma concluded. “With this solar factory, Abia will be great again.”

The establishment of the solar battery plant is expected to place Abia on the national map for renewable energy innovation and industrial development.
