Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has officially become the most expensive player in the history of Turkish football following his high-profile move to Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old was unveiled on Wednesday night in front of a jubilant crowd of Galatasaray supporters at the club’s stadium in Istanbul. Having initially joined from Napoli on a loan deal earlier in the off-season, Osimhen has now signed a permanent contract with the Turkish giants.

To finalize the transfer, Galatasaray triggered the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract with Napoli—a record-breaking fee for Turkish football.

This transfer shatters the previous record held by Fenerbahçe’s Youssef En-Nesyri, who was signed for €19.5 million. Rounding out the top five most expensive players in Turkey are Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara (€18 million), Mario Jardel (€17 million), and Nicolo Zaniolo (€15 million).

Osimhen’s arrival is expected to significantly bolster Galatasaray’s attacking power as they prepare for both domestic and European campaigns.
