Obi Refutes Alleged Statements On PDP, ADC

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has refuted circulating statements on social media suggesting he has made political moves involving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Obi’s media aide, Umar Ibrahim, clarified that the former Anambra State governor did not author—nor endorse—any of the viral messages currently being shared online.

One of the statements falsely claimed that Obi had denied returning to the PDP and reaffirmed allegiance to the ADC. Another alleged he had been offered the role of National Organizing Secretary within the ADC.

“These statements did not come from Peter Obi or his media office,” Ibrahim stated. “He has been clear and consistent in his stance regarding the ongoing coalition efforts and does not need anyone to speak on his behalf.”

Obi, who has remained a central figure in political discussions ahead of 2027, continues to focus on what he describes as his mission to build “a new Nigeria of our dreams.”

The media office urged Nigerians to disregard any messages attributed to Obi that do not come from official sources, including his verified social media accounts or designated spokespersons.

“Peter Obi will not accept anyone putting words in his mouth to advance a hidden agenda,” Ibrahim added.
