Bayern Munich Sign Luis Díaz From Liverpool In €75m Deal

Bayern Munich have officially signed Colombian forward Luis Díaz from Premier League champions Liverpool in a deal reportedly worth up to €75 million ($86.5 million).

The 28-year-old has signed a contract with the Bundesliga giants that will keep him at the club until 2029. During his successful spell at Anfield, Díaz won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

“In Luis Díaz, we’ve secured one of the Premier League’s top left wingers,” said Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. “He brings a winning mentality from Liverpool to FC Bayern, having lifted trophies at every club he’s played for.”

Díaz expressed his excitement about the move, calling Bayern “one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

“I’m very happy to join FC Bayern. It means a lot to me,” he said. “I want to contribute with my style of play and character. My goal is to win every title possible—and that’s what we’ll work toward every day.”

Last season, Díaz made 50 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool, scoring 17 goals as the team claimed their 20th English league title under new manager Arne Slot.

The Colombian was left out of Liverpool’s recent 4-2 friendly loss to AC Milan in Hong Kong amid growing transfer speculation.

His arrival provides Bayern with a much-needed boost following the long-term injury of German international Jamal Musiala, who suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle during the Club World Cup.
