Kebbi APC Dismiss Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Party’s Unity

The All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State has debunked widespread rumours suggesting that some of its members are defecting to opposition parties within the state.

Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, made this known in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

Kana-Zuru described the rumours as false, baseless, and a calculated attempt by political detractors to mislead the public and sow division within the party.

He stated emphatically that the APC in Kebbi remains “intact and strong,” boasting of loyal, committed, and expanding membership across the state.

“We are not losing members as falsely speculated. On the contrary, our party is receiving new members from different opposition parties regularly. We are growing stronger in the state and at the national level,” Kana-Zuru declared.

The party chairman attributed the sustained support for the APC to the remarkable achievements of the present administration under Governor Nasir Idris, especially in the areas of infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment.

He emphasized that the performance of the state government had continued to attract more supporters to the APC, adding that the party would maintain its commitment to supporting the masses through impactful policies and empowerment initiatives.
