An Abia-born cleric, Reverend Chika Ubani, has declared that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu stands a strong chance of emerging victorious in the 2027 general elections, citing his track record, enduring political structures, and widespread popularity.
Speaking in Umuahia, Rev. Ubani lauded the former Abia State Governor and current Senator representing Abia North, describing him as a leader whose legacy continues to resonate with the people.
“His record speaks for him,” the cleric said. “Prompt payment of salaries, free education, and various empowerment programmes were the hallmarks of his administration. Those of us who benefited from these initiatives have not forgotten, and many in Abia North are prepared to support him again.”
Rev. Ubani highlighted the strategic roles of the OUK Movement and the Reality Organization—two grassroots political structures established by Senator Kalu—which he described as solid foundations for any future political ambition.
“With the OUK Movement and Reality Organization well-grounded across communities and wards, his political base remains unmatched. These platforms will deliver effortlessly when the time comes,” he said.
The cleric also praised Senator Kalu’s charisma and connection with the people, noting that such traits are rare in modern-day politics.
“I admire his charisma. Honestly, I’m even jealous of how loved he is across the state. Whether you agree with him or not, you cannot deny that he connects with the people,” he added.
According to Rev. Ubani, Kalu’s achievements span free education, consistent salary and pension payments, major road projects, establishment of schools, provision of solar-powered streetlights and boreholes, as well as youth and women empowerment schemes.
He also noted the Senator’s efforts in sponsoring people-centered bills and facilitating federal jobs and projects in his senatorial zone.
Concluding his remarks, Rev. Ubani emphasized that Senator Kalu’s legacy, performance, and goodwill across Abia State make him a formidable force as the 2027 elections approach.
“A man with a legacy doesn’t need to speak too much; his work and structure speak for him,” he affirmed.
