The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has approved the constitution of the Abia State Homeland Security Board as part of his administration’s commitment to enhancing internal security and safeguarding lives and property across the state, ABN TV reports.
In a public service announcement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, FCA, the newly appointed board members include seasoned security professionals and experienced administrators.
The members of the Abia State Homeland Security Board are as follows:
1. Brigadier General N.V.U. Nnorom (Rtd.), Ph.D – Chairman
2. Colonel Chidi Kalu Ukoha (Rtd.) – General Manager/Chief Executive Officer
3. Mr. Chukwunenye Alajemba – Senior Special Assistant on Homeland Security/Board Member
4. Assistant Commissioner of Police Allwell Okwuonu (Rtd.) – Board Member
5. Barrister Ngozi Ula Ukoha – Board Member
6. Mrs. Ugo Chidi Onyeabor – Board Secretary
The newly constituted board is expected to work closely with relevant security agencies and community stakeholders to develop and implement policies aimed at curbing crime and ensuring the safety of residents.
This appointment underscores Governor Otti’s proactive approach to security reforms and institutional strengthening in Abia State.
