Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, South-South leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Minister of Transportation, has declared his intention to oppose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a large crowd of supporters at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Wednesday, Amaechi voiced strong discontent with the Tinubu administration, blaming it for the growing economic hardship across the country.

“I’m tired of this government. If a wealthy man is paying N4 million for electricity, only God knows how the ordinary Nigerian is surviving,” he said.

He urged residents of Rivers State to register with the ADC as part of a broader effort to curb electoral malpractice and reclaim political power.

“We must stop the manipulation of election results in Rivers. Go and register with the ADC—let’s change the system,” Amaechi told the crowd.
