Atalanta Sets Two Conditions For Potential Lookman Sale

Atalanta is reportedly open to selling Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman to Inter Milan but has set two key conditions for the transfer to go through.

According to Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the first condition is financial. Inter Milan recently submitted a €40 million bid to begin negotiations, but Atalanta turned down the offer, standing firm on a €50 million asking price.

However, sources indicate that Atalanta would be willing to finalize the deal if Inter presents an improved bid of €45 million upfront, plus an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses.

The second condition is related to timing. Atalanta is keen to avoid a repeat of last summer’s drawn-out negotiations with Juventus for Teun Koopmeiners, which dragged on until late in the transfer window and left the club with limited time to find a replacement. Having learned from that experience, Atalanta is insisting that any deal for Lookman be completed swiftly to allow for proper squad planning.

Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter is preparing to return with an improved offer. Negotiations between the two clubs were expected to continue as of yesterday, following Inter’s reported agreement on personal terms with Lookman, the reigning African Ballon d’Or winner.

Inter’s most recent offer reportedly involved a loan deal with an obligation to buy, but Atalanta prefers a direct, permanent sale worth €50 million.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà previously reported that a compromise could be reached for €45 million, including add-ons. However, as of now, Inter has yet to present an updated bid that meets Atalanta’s revised conditions.
