Manchester United have completed the signing of forward Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford on a deal running until 2030, with an option to extend for a further year, the club confirmed on Monday.

According to a source close to the club, United paid £65 million ($88 million) for the 25-year-old Cameroon international, with an additional £6 million potentially due in performance-related add-ons.

Mbeumo enjoyed a standout 2024–25 Premier League season, scoring 20 goals to help Brentford secure a 10th-place finish. Only Mohamed Salah (29), Alexander Isak (23), and Erling Haaland (22) scored more league goals over the campaign.

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams, the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” Mbeumo said.

“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit of character to reach another level here, learning from (manager) Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.”

Capable of playing both on the right wing and as a central striker, Mbeumo proved vital to Brentford’s attack last season, starting every league match. Since arriving from French club Troyes in 2019, he has made 242 appearances, scoring 70 goals and registering 51 assists for the Bees.

“Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional; his remarkable consistency has put him among the most productive players in England for the last three seasons,” said United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox.

“We are delighted to have secured another one of our primary targets ahead of the pre-season tour. The experience in the US will be the perfect opportunity for Bryan to work with Ruben and his new teammates as we prepare for an exciting season ahead.”

Manchester United’s pre-season tour in the United States includes matches against West Ham on July 26 in New Jersey, Bournemouth on July 30 in Chicago, and Everton on August 3 in Atlanta.
