The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described President Bola Tinubu as a “bad market” and an unsuitable choice for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence in its ability to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba claimed the party remains the only viable political force capable of removing Tinubu and the APC from power.

“The PDP is the only party that can unseat the APC. We have the support, the base, and national spread,” Ologunagba said.

“There is no community without PDP members because it is truly the people’s party. Nigerians are eager for the PDP’s return.”

He pointed to what he described as the APC’s “numerous failures” in governance, stating that no “patriotic Nigerian, group, or political party” would support President Tinubu in the next election cycle.

“Tinubu is a bad market and a one-term president,” he added. “No one going through the current economic hardship will vote for him again.”

Ologunagba also addressed concerns about recent defections of some PDP members to the APC and to a new coalition aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He dismissed the defections as insignificant, stressing that the party remains strong and unified.

“Our party is organic and formidable,” he said. “The people who truly make up the PDP are not leaving because of hunger or insecurity. In fact, most Nigerians, including those who are apolitical, still believe in the PDP and what we stand for.”
