Wolverhampton Wanderers have paid a heartfelt tribute to Portuguese forward Diogo Jota by inducting him into the club’s Hall of Fame following his tragic death in a car accident earlier this month.
Jota played a pivotal role in Wolves’ promotion to the Premier League in 2018 before making a high-profile move to Liverpool in 2020.
“Diogo was not only a phenomenal footballer but also a humble and kind individual during his time with us.
He will be deeply missed by everyone at Wolves,” said Matt Wild, Wolves’ Director of Football Administration, in a statement released Thursday evening.
The club’s Hall of Fame, established in 2008, already honours legendary figures such as Billy Wright, Derek Dougan, and Steve Bull.
