The management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has approved 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into any of its programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This was announced in a statement released on Thursday by the Admission Officer, Mr. Innocent Izekwe.

According to the institution, the cut-off mark of 150 aligns with the National Universities Commission guidelines.

The university also stated that internal cut-off marks have been set for specific faculties and departments as follows:

  • Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities:

    • Mass Communication — 160

    • Other programmes — 150

  • Faculty of Sciences:

    • Computer Science — 170

    • Other programmes — 150

  • Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources Management:

    • All programmes — 150

  • Faculty of Education:

    • All courses — 150

  • Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Sciences:

    • Chemical Engineering — 170

    • Civil Engineering — 150

    • Electrical and Electronics Engineering — 170

    • Environmental Sciences — 150 (for all courses)

  • Faculty of Medicine:

    • Medicine and Surgery — 240

    • Anatomy — 160

    • Physiology — 160

  • Faculty of Health Science and Technology:

    • Nursing Science—210

    • Medical Laboratory Science—180

  • Faculty of Law:

    • All programmes — 170

The institution further emphasized that candidates must not only meet the minimum cut-off scores for their chosen programmes but also fulfill all other admission requirements set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the institution.

“Prospective applicants are advised to visit the university’s website or contact the admissions office for further information and guidance on the application process,” the statement added.
