Almost a week after a ceasefire was reached, Iran’s state media reported that at least 935 people were killed during the recent 12-day war with Israel—a devastating toll that includes 132 women and 38 children.
The conflict, which began on June 13 when Israel launched a sweeping bombing campaign, targeted key military bases, nuclear facilities, and, sadly, residential neighborhoods across Iran. Among the dead were high-ranking military officers and nuclear scientists, but also many civilians caught in the crossfire.
In response, Iran launched a series of missile and drone attacks that struck several major Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. Israeli authorities confirmed 28 fatalities on their side.
The violence came to a halt with a ceasefire agreement that took effect on June 24, bringing a fragile peace to a region once again shaken by war and loss.
