Former President Donald Trump is promoting a new pathway to U.S. residency through a proposed $5 million visa program, directing interested individuals to a newly launched website, TrumpCard.gov, which opened its waiting list on Wednesday.
“Thousands have been calling and asking how they can sign up to ride a beautiful road in gaining access to the greatest country and market anywhere in the world,” Trump said in a social media post.
The initiative, first introduced in April aboard Air Force One, features a high-priced visa alternative that Trump says will attract job creators and potentially help reduce the national deficit. At the time, he revealed a golden prototype of the permit bearing his likeness, promising it would likely be available “in less than two weeks.”
Although the visas are not yet available, the website now invites users to submit their name, desired visa type, and email address beneath a promotional banner that reads, “The Trump Card is Coming.”
Trump has positioned the visa as a premium version of the traditional U.S. green card, claiming it could serve as a route to U.S. citizenship. In a February statement, he suggested his administration hoped to sell “maybe a million” of the cards and did not dismiss the possibility that Russian oligarchs might be eligible.
The rollout of this proposal comes amid intensified deportation efforts nationwide, which have triggered protests and renewed scrutiny of the Trump administration’s immigration policies. Legal challenges and allegations of rights violations continue to mount as the administration pushes forward with its crackdown on illegal immigration.
