Simone Inzaghi was officially unveiled as the new head coach of Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal on Thursday, just days after his Inter Milan side suffered a crushing defeat in the Champions League final.
“The Italian genius is here,” Al Hilal announced on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, alongside a slick promotional video featuring the coach. “Welcome, Simone Inzaghi.”

The former Inter boss arrives in Riyadh to lead one of the Saudi Pro League’s most prominent and oil-funded clubs, just weeks before Al Hilal is set to compete in the revamped Club World Cup in the United States.
“I am Simone Inzaghi, and today begins my story with Al Hilal,” Inzaghi said in a message to fans. In the video, he is seen sipping Arabian coffee and pinning an Al Hilal badge onto his suit jacket.

Inzaghi’s tenure at Inter ended after a disappointing 5-0 loss to Qatar-backed Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final last Saturday. His departure was confirmed on Tuesday.
The 49-year-old had a respectable run with Inter Milan, winning one Serie A title and two Italian Cups since taking over in 2021. He also led the club to two Champions League finals in three years, though he lost both.
Earlier in the season, Inter appeared poised to repeat the club’s historic 2010 treble but ultimately ended the campaign without silverware, having faltered in all major competitions.
Last month, Inzaghi dismissed speculation about signing a two-year deal with Al Hilal valued at €50 million, though the move has now been confirmed.
