Shot put star Kalu Ekeh Onwuka, popularly known as “Scorpion,” has clinched the gold medal for Abia State at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
Ekeh recorded an impressive throw of 16.28 meters to emerge champion in the men’s shot put event, marking a remarkable comeback after missing the previous edition due to a leg injury.
Speaking to ABN TV after his victory, the elated athlete declared, “This is just me saying, I am back.”
The win has sparked excitement and pride among sports enthusiasts and supporters in Abia, who continue to celebrate one of their own for making the state proud on the national stage.
