Hon. Azubuike Unites Ndi-Ngwa In South Africa, Pledges Support For Otti’s 2027 Mandate (Photos, Video)

The CEO/Executive Director of Petbridge Nigeria Ltd. and prominent Abia political figure, Hon. Peter Chigozie Azubuike, popularly known as The Rock of Abia, has again demonstrated his deep commitment to Ndi-Ngwa unity and empowerment during a high-profile engagement with the Oha-Ngwa Association South Africa.

Speaking at a well-attended meeting of the association, Hon. Azubuike delivered a passionate message centered on fostering peace, love, and solidarity among the Ngwa community in the diaspora. He emphasized the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of Ndi-Ngwa and building a united front that transcends geographical boundaries.

“Unity, love, and progress must be our guiding principles,” he said. “We must be our brother’s keeper, and that means embracing selflessness, redistributing opportunities, and uplifting one another across the Ngwa nation, both at home and abroad.”

The event also served as an opportunity for Hon. Azubuike to offer practical support to pressing community needs. He made a generous donation of R10,000 (₦886,650) to assist the family of the late Mr. Chimaobi Nwankwo, the former Vice Chairman of the Oha-Ngwa Association, with burial expenses.

In another act of generosity, Hon. Azubuike contributed an additional R10,000 (₦886,650) to the R52,000 (₦4,611,350) raised for young Isaac O. Nwachukwu Solarin from Obingwa LGA, who was selected to represent South Africa in an international baseball tournament. His gesture was applauded as a major boost to the young athlete’s promising career.

During the meeting, Hon. Azubuike also introduced the Obingwa Youths’ Summit (OYS) — a new initiative aimed at connecting and empowering Obingwa indigenes in the diaspora. He revealed plans to appoint a Diaspora Coordinator to oversee the unification and mobilization of Obingwa youths in South Africa under the platform.

While in South Africa, Hon. Azubuike also paid a courtesy visit to Chief Martin Ekelemchi Nwachukwu, the Mayor of Olungwa and leader of all Ngwa people in the country. Both leaders exchanged ideas on building stronger ties among the Ngwa diaspora and nurturing service-oriented leadership that will impact the homeland positively.

The gathering also resonated with support for the current administration of Governor Alex Otti in Abia State. Hon. Azubuike praised the governor’s ongoing transformation of the state, noting that the diaspora community expressed overwhelming confidence in his leadership and readiness to support his re-election come 2027.

In his closing remarks, Chairman of Oha-Ngwa Association South Africa, Hon. Benjamin Nweke, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the diaspora members for their solidarity during the burial of the late Vice Chairman and their support for the young baseball talent.

“As we gather here to solidify our unity and promote peace, love, oneness, and our cultural heritage as Ndi-Ngwa, may God Almighty guide and protect us all to our various destinations,” Nweke prayed.

Hon. Azubuike also extended warm greetings to Dr. A.B.C. Okoko, who was recently elected President of all Igbos in South Africa, describing his emergence as a proud moment for the Ngwa clan and the larger Igbo community.
