Umuawa-Alaocha Central School was enveloped in a solemn atmosphere on Saturday as former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mike Okiro (Rtd) joined renowned philanthropist and businessman Mayor Lucky Igbokwe popularly Known as Don Lulu, alongside the Ndudim Abraham family, to mourn the passing of businessman, Mr. Philip Ndudim.

The well-attended funeral service brought together a distinguished array of personalities from political, business, and media circles, reflecting the far-reaching influence of the late Ndudim and the strong communal ties he shared.
Mr. Philip Ndudim was a respected son of Umuawa-Alaocha and a kinsman of Mayor Igbokwe. He was also the brother of media consultant Charles Ndudim, California State Superior Court Judge David Ndudim, and US-based medical expert Dr. Mrs. Beaulah Iroegbu.
Former IGP Okiro’s presence underscored the magnitude of the loss and the deep respect held for the deceased. He stood in solidarity with Mayor Igbokwe and the bereaved family, offering condolences and participating in the funeral rites.
Joining the list of dignitaries was Rt. Hon. Kelechi Onuzuruike, a former member of the Abia State House of Assembly, who paid his respects to the deceased. Also present was Mrs. Megdalene Ugoanusi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, representing the state government and acknowledging the loss as a significant one to the community.

Notable attendees from the private sector included Mr. Emmanuel Okenini (E-Bello), CEO of De-Latinos, alongside media professionals such as Alozie Alonzo Uzoukwu and June Nwabara, further illustrating the wide network of relationships the Ndudim family and Mayor Igbokwe maintain.
The burial ceremony served as a touching moment of reflection and unity, drawing sympathizers from near and far to honor a life well-lived. The overwhelming turnout and heartfelt tributes paid to Mr. Philip Ndudim spoke volumes of his legacy and the deep-rooted values of kinship and respect in Umuahia.
