The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has emphasized the importance of fostering strong and healthy relationships within the workplace, noting that such unity is essential for long-term success and the efficient achievement of collective goals.
The monarch made the remarks during his first official meeting with palace staff, held on Wednesday at his private residence in the Boroboro area of Oyo town. His message was conveyed in a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, Bode Durojaye, on Thursday in Ibadan.
Oba Owoade underscored that effective collaboration is built on mutual respect and understanding, which are vital for day-to-day operations and problem-solving. He noted that shared vision and teamwork within the palace workforce would enable greater productivity and help fulfill the institution’s broader objectives.
“Strong and healthy relationships among the palace workforce will lay the groundwork for effective collaboration. When you understand and respect each other’s strengths and weaknesses, the result is efficient teamwork and innovative solutions,” the Alaafin said.
He added that unity is a cornerstone of growth, both personally and collectively, and that by coming together, people can overcome challenges and unlock their full potential.
The monarch also used the occasion to thank the people of Oyo for their continued support and belief in his leadership, saying their encouragement has been instrumental in fueling his commitment to service.
Echoing the king’s sentiments, the Alaafin’s wife, Olori Abiwumi Owoade, emphasized the power of unity among the palace staff. She noted that shared confidence and support can strengthen resolve and collective morale.
“When people unite, they find strength and comfort in one another. This shared commitment inspires belief in their abilities and reinforces the determination to face challenges together,” she said.
