The Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has reiterated the need for a fundamental shift in the perception of public office among Nigerians, declaring that leadership positions should be seen as a sacred trust and not a platform for personal gain.

Speaking while addressing his constituents during an interactive meeting, Rep. Ogah emphasized that holding public office is a rare privilege bestowed by the people, and must be approached with a deep sense of responsibility and service.

“Holding public office is a privilege and not a business venture. We must change our mindset accordingly,” the federal lawmaker said.

Hon. Ogah noted that the prevailing attitude of viewing political positions as avenues for wealth accumulation has greatly hindered national development. He stressed that genuine leadership must be anchored on selflessness, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.

He assured that he remains committed to policies and initiatives that would enhance the socio-economic well-being of his constituents.

The meeting provided an opportunity for constituents to engage directly with their representative, raise concerns, and discuss ways to foster development across the constituency.
