A commercial motorcycle operator, Tope Oladiji, who allegedly threatened to kill his father Kolawole Oladiji with a cutlass, has been arraigned before an Ondo Magistrate Court.
Tope, aged 39, was arraigned on a one-count charge bordering on threat to life.
He was said to have committed the offence on October 28, 2022, at Holy Trinity Italuowo, Ondo town.
The offence is punishable under Sections 86(2) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
The charge reads: ”That you, Tope Oladiji, on October 28,2022 at about midnight at Holy Trinity Italuowo, Ondo, in the Ondo Magisterial District did threaten the life of one Kolawole Oladiji with a cutlass and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 86(2)of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.”
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Iyabo Omolara, informed the court that she would call two witnesses to testify in the case.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Toyin Olowookere, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to December 8, 2022, for trial.
