Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in the South-East, Kodilichukwu Okelekwe has claimed that it would be difficult for an Igbo man to become the president of Nigeria.
Okelekwe while speaking in an exclusive interview with Vanguard Newspaper, said the political events that happened in the past has placed Igbos in a difficult situation to win presidential elections.
He gave instances of the incident that happened during the Civil War.

“You know why? Because of suspicion, the fact that we fought Civil War”
According to him, even though an Igbo man is going for the presidential seat with a good intention, he may likely not get the trust from other tribes across the country.
“So, every step of the Igbo President, no matter how well intentioned, will he seen with utmost suspicion by other tribes in Nigeria.” he told Vanguard Newspaper.
