Former Super Eagles defender and coach, Austin Eguavoen has congratulated Premier League club, Manchester City for winning the 2021/22 Premier League title.
City rallied back from two goals down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in a thrilling final day clash at the Etihad Stadium.
City were just one point ahead of Liverpool going into the final game of the season.
Matty Cash gave Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa the lead in the 37th minute and former Liverpool player, Phillipe Coutinho doubled the lead in the 69th minute to put City’s title hopes in serious doubt.
However Manchester City went on a five minute rampage to make the scores 3-2 in the 81st minute.
Rodrigo Hernandez’s 78th minute goal was sandwiched between two IIkay Gundogan goals to give City the Premiership title after Liverpool defeated Wolves 3-1.
Eguavoen took to his Twitter handle to congratulate Pep Guardiola and Manchester City for the win.
“Congratulations Manchester City. Pep Guardiola , head and shoulders above everyone else. Champions of England,” he Tweeted.
Manchester City won the title after amassing a total of 93 points from 38 games.
The club had a total of 29 wins ,six draws and three losses.
This is Manchester City’s fourth Premier League win in five years and their eighth win overall since 1937.
