New Man United Manager Erik Ten Hag Snubs Ajax, Resumes Work At Old Trafford

Erik ten Hag has snubbed Ajax’s squad win celebrations in favor of joining Manchester United.

The Ajax players and its outgoing manager, Ten Hag, were scheduled to travel to Curacao for their post-season tour, but the Dutchman has opted out and instead begin work with Manchester United on Monday.

The 52-year-old, who was due to return to Old Trafford in the summer, took command of Ajax in their 2-2 draw with Vitesse on Sunday.

The Ajax squad will go to Curacao for a friendly versus the national team as well as to fulfill sponsorship obligations.

However, the Dutchman has chosen to fly to England to begin his preparations with Manchester United for next season, stating that there are no plans to return.

United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick is expected to guide the team in their remaining two Premier League games.

“Tomorrow there will be a party with the staff but I’m not going to Curacao this week,’ Ten Hag told the Dutch press on Sunday after the game.

“There is a lot of work that still needs to be done. I think that’s understandable. This applies to every [new] club.

“A number of things still need to be organized with the staff and also with the squad. We will be working intensively on that from tomorrow.”
