Fans and supporters of Katsina United Football Club have been banned by the League Management Company (LMC) from showing up at the stadium during home matches in the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The club’s spokesman, Nasir Gide, made the disclosure on Monday in Katsina.
According to Gide, LMC conveyed the decision to the club in a letter addressed to the club Chairman, Abdulsamad Badamasi, following the security breaches from the home fans who verbally assaulted match officials during the encounter between the home team and Gombe United FC at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium recently.
The letter indicated that “LMC decided to take the disciplinary action following the report of the assault during the match played at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

“The ban will be in place until necessary security arrangements are made to ensure the security and safety of teams, match officials and fans during future matches in the stadium.”
Meanwhile, the management of Katsina United FC has called on its supporters to shun acts capable of causing the club to be sanctioned or asked to pay a fine by the LMC.
The management urged them to always conduct themselves in good manners whenever the team is playing.
