Three housemasters and five students of Dowen College, Lekki have been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.
Three students of the school were earlier arrested on Tuesday by homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti Street, Yaba.
Sylvester Oromoni allegedly died as a result of injuries he sustained when he was beaten by some students of Dowen for refusing to join their cult gang.
The police spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, told our correspondent on phone that the five students mentioned by late Sylvester Oromoni Jnr. before he died as responsible for bullying him and three housemasters of Dowen College Lekki are in their custody.
He said four of the students were mentioned by the parents of the victim to be directly involved in the crime while the fifth student is assisting the police in their investigation.
“Equally too, I have gotten in touch with my colleague in Delta State. The four groups involved in the investigation now are the police, the bereaved family, the Dowen school authorities and the governments of Lagos and Delta State.
