TIMAAS Sets Date To Commence Full Implementation Of Traffic Laws In Abia, Psychiatric Evaluation [See Date]

Traffic And Indiscipline Management Agency Of Abia State, TIMAAS has set September 1 deadline to commence full implementation of all traffic laws in the state, stating that psychiatric evaluation for serious traffic offences is still in place.

This is even as the agency in collaboration with Abia State Ministry of Transport has commenced the installation of signages along major roads in Aba.

ABN TV reports that the first phase of the project includes Signages for BUS STOP, NO PARKING, and NO U-TURN at some designated locations in the city of Aba.

Conducting the Permanent Secretary Ministry Of Transport Mrs. Ijeoma Clara Okere round the project, the General Manager, TIMAAS, Comrade Bright Chinedu Ikeowu stated that more of the Signages would be secured and installed all over the city of Aba in coming days.

He also said the project will soon hit Umuahia city.

Responding, Mrs Okere commended TIMAAS GM for such an initiative, saying it will go a long way in helping motorists and other road users to abide by road traffic laws in the state.

Comdr, Ikeowu warned that starting from 1st of September 2021 no more excuses will be entertained from any traffic offender, pledging the agency’s readiness to combat traffic offences and restoring discipline and orderliness in Abia roads.

He enjoined Abians to always be law-abiding and cooperate with Officers of TIMAAS as these will help in restoring the lost glory of the city.
