A chieftain of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and deputy Chairman (South) of the party, Engr. Uchenna Okogbuo has said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Abia state has outlived its usefulness, insisting that people no longer have confidence in it, ABN TV reports.
He noted that APGA will take over power to replicate the success they have recorded in Anambra in Abia.
In a chat with ABN TV on Friday, Engr. Okogbuo said APGA won the governorship seat in the state in 2015 but was rigged out.
While stressing that the party now knows what to do to protect its votes, he said the ability of the party to produce about 13 members of the state House of Assembly in 2015 communicates the feelings of the people.
Engr. Okogbuo while further noting that the APC has no presence in Abia emphasized that if a free and fair election is conducted in the APGA will emerge victoriously.
He called on those planning to rig the 2023 governorship election in the state to begin to have a rethink.
On Anambra governorship election scheduled to take place November 6, 2021, he called on those hoping to rely on federal might to win to perish such thoughts, expressing confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari does not condone fraud and intimidation in electoral contests
