Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, has decried the high rate of insecurity in Nigeria, saying the country is in pains, ABN TV reports.
According to the Abia North Senator, the country is at the moment passing through challenges as a result of spate of killings and abductions going on in various parts.
The former Abia governor spoke during a special Sunday Mass held at Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro-Cathedral, Abuja, on Sunday.

He noted that it requires the collective effort of everyone and a united Nigeria to solve the problems currently bedeviling the nation.
The federal lawmaker appealed to fathers all over the country to unite and make their own contributions so that the current economic and security challenges facing the nation can be defeated.
“Our commitment as Nigerians and fathers shall never be in vain.
“I urge all fathers in the country to put their heads together in the best interest of our nation.
“As a nation, we are in pains as a result of the security challenges that we are passing through.
