The Abia State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has assured its readiness to offer the needed support and cooperation to the National Orientation Agency, NOA in ensuring a harmonious and peaceful co-existence among Abians and residents.
The state Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Vincent Ogu (JP) made the pledge when he received the management of Abia State Directorate of National Orientation Agency led by the State Director- Dr. Mrs Ngozi Okechukwu at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia on Thursday.
In a statement issued by the Command PRO, DSC Ndukwe Agu Egwu, the State Director- Dr. Mrs Ngozi Okechukwu while speaking at the occasion said the management team of the Agency were at the Command Headquarters to solicit the support of NSCDC in promoting religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and unity among Nigerians.
According to the statement, Dr. Okechukwu harped on the Freedom of Information Bill and its importance in promoting good governance.
She further advocated adequate orientation, right attitude and values to deal with security challenges bedeviling the nation.
In his response, Commandant Vincent assured the Management of NOA of his Command’s readiness to work with the agency to ensure the promotion of right values among Nigerians which he said holds the solution for a peaceful, united Nigeria.
Highlight of the visit was the exchange of presentations by both Organizations.
