Chukwu, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that the gesture had nothing to do with politics.

He said “It is in my programme to visit at least two churches in my constituency every two months and support them.

“I use the opportunity to also find out how they are responding to government policies, as well as inform them to take advantage of various social intervention programmes of government.”

Responding, Mrs. Ann Elendu, a former President of CWO at St. Joseph, thanked the lawmaker for his kind gesture and prayed that God would guide him.

Also, Rev. Fr Joseph Kalu, the Parish Priest of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, said that Chukwu had demonstrated the teachings of Jesus Christ by visiting the poor and the vulnerable.
