The kidnapped female students of Government Secondary School Jangebe in Zamfara have been released, ABN TV reports.
Zamfara state Governor, Bello Matawale received them on Tuesday morning at Government House Gusau.
The Governor said the actual number of the abductees is 279 and they are all back hale and hearty.

He said the actual number of abductees is 279 and not 317 as earlier stated by the police.

Though he stated no ransom was paid for their release, the Governor however stated about 30 repentant bandits were swapped for them.
He urged the Federal government to strengthen capacity of the security agents.
The Governor and his wife, A’isha were at the Government House to receive the freed schoolgirls.
