In appreciation for the numerous impactful developmental projects executed in their community, residents of Igbere early this morning arrived at the home of the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in droves to show their solidarity to their Senatorial representative.

The members of the Igbere community had arrived at the gate of Senator Kalu’s Igbere camp “Neya home” chanting songs of solidarity after which they were granted entry.

Senator Kalu on hearing about the development came out to address the people. In his speech, Senator Kalu expressed his gratitude for their solidarity. He advised the joyful residents to eschew even forms of violence, he also cautioned against the destruction of the projects, he beckoned them to see the projects like theirs.

Explaining the reason behind the visit, a community stakeholder who gave his name as “Josco Jo“, disclosed that the visit was the usual practice of the people whenever Senator Kalu returns home, in a show of their loyalty.

He said “the visit is a usual one by the members of this community, it’s also to say “thank you” and to also afford us the opportunity to interact with him on our needs. We are here to thank him for good governance and the roads he has facilitated around Abia-North. The road construction has been fairly distributed so the people are happy. We have had many previous Senators but they did nothing for us, but in less than 2 years in his first term, he has done a lot for us so we can very grateful.
